How does VASE security software work? VASE security software uses a patent pending algorithm to encrypt/decrypt files.
Has VASE security software ever been compromised? Although put through rigorous testing, no file encrypted by VASE software has ever been hacked or compromised.
Does VASE software protect my computer from viruses? No.
Does VASE software protect my computer from cyber-attack? VASE software can be an effective tool to protect the contents of files if they are stolen. If encrypted files were stolen, they would be useless to anyone without the means to decrypt them (in other words a correct keycode and VASE Software).
Can VASE products run on my cell phone? Not yet.
What operating system can this software run on? VASE security software is a 32-bit application that runs on Microsoft Windows 10, 7, Vista, XP and older Microsoft operating systems.
Can this software be used on a network? The software can be run on a computer connected to a network, but currently does not have a server-client function.
How long does it take to encrypt a file? This depends on the size of the file, the size of the private key and the speed of the processor for the computer running VASE security software.
Does VASE security software provide a "back door" to access encrypted files? VASE security software has a patent pending algorithm that does not allow for "back door" access. An encrypted file cannot be decrypted if the keycode is not exactly what was used to generate the Key File.
What is a key code? In VASE security software, the keycode is a file containing the parameter/settings used to create the key used in the encryption/decryption process. A keycode is closely analogous to the concept of a public key in asymmetric cryptography.
What is a public key? A key that can be used by the "public" designed to facilitate the decryption activity when sharing a file and is paired with a private key used in the actual encryption
How does my company protect itself from other companies that have the VASE software? When encrypting with VASE, a user provides unique key combinations for the keycode.
If the keycode is lost can VASE help me decrypt the file? No. Without the keycode and the parameters used no one can decrypt the file. This provides ultimate security for the file. The user must store and protect the key and the parameters for every encrypted file. VASE does not store any user data, nor does the software have a back door. The user is in control and responsible for safeguarding any keycodes they generate, as well as all files - original, encrypted, and decrypted.
